The food industry is changing, with a strong tendency towards decentralisation. By placing IO modules in the field and connecting entrances and exits with prefabricated cabling that connects them with the control system, shorter installation times and simpler maintenance and service are possible. The ultimate goal is to cut costs. Murrelelektronik developed new products that meet the extremely high requirements set for hygienic design. One example is the Cube67 HD stainless steel, field bus module in IP69K, which allows decentralisation up to zone 1.
