High Tech meets Food

  • 11 September 2018

Technological innovations determine the future of Agri & Food. The AgriFoodTech fair 2018 offers the right stage to show these innovations which allow the Netherlands to remain a frontrunner. Additionally, the event brings about expertise development and collaboration.

Manufacturers, suppliers, developers, designers and users from the entire food chain show the newest innovations. Different knowledge sessions offer visitors current information. On the fair, there are different stages where people can meet and learn from each other. There are several thematic squares, live demos and an exhibition with an estimated 150 specialist companies and knowledge institutes.

The exhibitors profile is incredibly broad: from robotics, sensor technology, photonics and machine and device construction to IOT, software, big data, information technology, precision agriculture and packaging technology.

Key sectors all in one place

The key sectors Agri & Food, Horticulture & Stock Materials and High Tech Systems & Materials are jointly responsible for more than half of Dutch export. At the interface of these sectors lie challenging innovation opportunities that provide the Netherlands of a view on new export chains on one hand and the next steps in the production of sustainable, safe, transparent and delicious food on the other. The Netherlands is a frontrunner when it comes to high-tech. In the area of Agri & Food and Horticulture, our country is of worldly renown. With crossovers between high-tech industry and the greenhouse horticulture, the Netherlands can remain the frontrunner in use of high-tech for the production of food.

Foodstuff industry

What do high-tech and ICT innovations mean to your company? Sensors, robotics, vision, Big Data, IoT, predictive maintenance; these are developments you already encounter. These innovations are linked to your challenges, such as producing more effectively, efficiently and sustainably. But also to the production of safe food, quality, hygiene et cetera.

Collaboration

AgriFoodTech 2018 presents all technological developments together with its partners under one roof. The fair covers the entire AgriFood chain, from engineer to user. Several partners use the event to present themselves, including FME, GMV, FNLI, ZLTO, High Tech NL and 4TU; partners that guarantee innovation, knowledge and give meaning to this unique platform!

As independent knowledge and network centre for the industry, Miktrocentrum is by definition the party to provide a platform across the full spectrum of the AgriFood sector in terms of (high-tech) solutions for quality and process optimisation. For the congress part, on December 12th, they will collaborate with the AgriFood Platform to achieve this.
