Professionals in online auctions

  • 07 May 2019

Hergebruikt, Marktplaats, Speurders: giving your stuff a second life has never been more popular. That also applies to the food industry. The online auction agency Industrial Actions has grown like cabbage in a few years’ time.

They focus on the food and beverage industry and are determined to become the market leader. The online auction agency organised hundreds of auctions in recent years and sold thousands of machines all over the world. They carry out their business activities from their headquarters in Eindhoven. Next to the motorway and close to the airport, they also have their 5,000 m2 hall, where they can work effectively and efficiently. With an annual increase of auctions throughout Europe and a global network of buyers, the company is proving itself to be valuable to the sector.

More reliable

Why choose a used machine? “The costs and fast availability play an important part”, says Ad van Kollenburg, CEO and owner of Industrial Actions. “A used machine is cheaper than a new one and can be picked up within a week after the auction. An obvious argument, but not often thought of, is that used machines can even be more reliable than new machines and have fewer complications. Complications that may have occurred have already been found, tested and repaired. A used machine, if maintained properly, can be used for years to come.” The fact that people buy online more easily also contributes to the good development of the online auction agency.

Viewing days

The non-concealed disadvantage of purchasing machines at an auctions is the fact that it does not come with guarantees. However, Industrial Actions strives to guarantee customer satisfaction with a purchase by providing many pictures, available videos and extensive technical descriptions of the machines. With the knowledge gained about the food and beverage industry over the years, the eye for detail and the level of service offered, they want to keep their professionalism high from start to finish. Ad: “This is also reflected by organising a viewing day for each auction, personally meeting our customers on location, giving them an extensive brochure and having a team on site to answer every question. If someone is unable to visit, we offer them an online brochure and answer questions by e-mail and phone. Our logistics team is on hand with every auction to help load items on pick-up days. As part of the aftersales, we can also take care of the dismantling and worldwide transport at an additional cost.”

The benefits of a niche

Industrial Auctions organised auctions for renowned production companies such as FrieslandCampina, Nestlé, Koninklijke Peijnenburg, Vion Food Group and many more. From complete processing lines for vegetables, fruit, dairy, meat and fish to the most specialised packaging lines. And for many (machine) traders, separate machines, such as cutting machines, thermoformers, metal detectors, hygiene stations and meat grinders are auctioned either on location or in-house. “The benefit of a niche is that we have knowledge of the machines and have exactly the right network to be able to sell them”, says Ad van Kollenburg. “This allows us to guarantee a higher return for the client. This also leads to greater trust, better approachability and a healthier way of doing business.” The company proves itself over the years; by acting on it: “We will never pretend that we already know everything, because we actually learn from everyday practice”, says Ad. “We are not afraid of problems, and although we have set up rules and conditions, we do not hide behind them. We want honest trade and try to ensure that we act on that as well as we can and are always open to improvements.”

Easy registration

Industrial Auctions wants to have its customers participate in an online auction in a special and inventive way. Their way of working, the casual atmosphere, high involvement and the enthusiasm of the employees make you believe that a collaboration is more than worthwhile. “Are you, as a food manufacturer, looking for a specific machine, but is it not yet listed on the site? Send us an e-mail or give us a call. There is a good chance that we will be offered such a machine within the foreseeable future. Moreover, a registration is easily made.”
