Bureau Veritas is launching Origin, a tracing label for the entire course taken by a foodstuff, from farm to table. This solution was presented in Tokyo on 5 March 2018 to an international audience during the Global Food Safety Conference. Origin is based on blockchain technology and provides an intelligent and practical method for consumers to gain access to information on every stage of the course taken by a product. They can scan a QR code in the shop to view a complete history of any product and make informed purchasing decisions.
